A Personal Void

If only you could understand the void I hold, The ocean of nothingness, Laying bare in the depths of my consciousness,

If only you could understand the void I hold,

The ocean of nothingness,

Laying bare in the depths of my consciousness,

You can try to fill it with all you can find,

It swallows whole, leaving nothing behind,

Try as I might to erase its existence,

It's quiet for a while but never really leaves,

My forever curse, a gnawing emptiness,

It traps me in a smoke-like screen,

I could scream and scream, but what the use,

The void slowly swallows them, too,

How bleak it is inside my mind,

Colorless existence, a mirthless mime.
