Out with the old in with new hope

A New Year Begins 2026

I leave behind the weight of last year,

The sorrow that followed me too long.

The tears, the doubt, the restless nights,

They no longer walk beside my days.

What hurt me taught me how to stand,

What broke me showed me what was true.

I do not forget what I endured,

I release it with open hands.

The bad of twenty five stays there,

Where it belongs, in yesterday.

I cast it out, the fear, the regret,

And close the door without looking back.

Ahead of me waits a gentler road,

Not perfect, just kinder than before.

New hope breathes in quiet moments,

New wishes forming without fear.

I welcome joy I have not known yet,

I welcome peace I have not held.

A different life begins to rise,

Built from faith and second chances.

This year I choose what nourishes me,

I choose light over old despair.

The past has spoken, I have listened,

Now I step forward into new year 2026.
