I who wait eagerly
Across seas and mountains
For a home once promised for me
That which today can barely stand
In old days paved way for humankind
A land crafted through centuries
Generations of life
Refusing to move
I who belong to a place
No longer available to me
Made impure with time
Though a temple in past
What does remain?
A look through the cracks
A fire that begs to be fed
Warming the hearts of
Patient packs of wolves
Waiting to pounce
To attack
To rebel what has become
The insides of their eyes
Not empty
Not defeated
Only a growing rage
A time bomb nearing its end
Waiting to explode
To smoke out this world
I who know nothing of this world
Pray to an all knowing being
Unleash this wrath
Let it open our scars
So we may bleed a path
For others to follow
And see that which is still alive
Though injured can still move in strides
Tomorrow when they wake
Let them look to a new sun
Make it heat the ground that they walk
Let this be their fuel
To carry on in all their fury
