A Narcissist I Once Loved

Lies 24/7 you don’t know how to love

In shadows cast by golden lies,

His charm like sunlight through disguise.

A gentle touch, a summer breeze,

Yet, in his eyes, a cold unease.

He spun the world with threads of gold,

A story I was desperate to hold.

Each whispered promise, sweetly sung,

A lovely tune, but bittersweetly strung.

He danced in circles, captivating,

Yet left my heart in silent waiting.

With words like velvet, sharp as glass,

He painted love, yet let it pass.

I miss the laughter, bright and bold,

Yet know the truth in stories told.

For in his grip, I lost my way,

A fleeting star that turned to gray.

So here I stand, a heart in two,

Missing him, yet knowing too.

Love can bloom in delicate pain,

A flower born from sun and rain.

Perhaps one day I’ll learn to see,

That missing him means finding me.

For in the shadows, I’ll reclaim,

The piece of me he left in flame.
