A broken heart cries out in sorrow
For the pups she loved and lost
The pain is sharp and real, no tomorrow
The memories of the mother's cost
The ground is wet with her tears
Mourning her puppies so small and sweet
The loss so great, how could she bear
This tragedy she can not defeat
The friends she had, now gone away
The love she shared, it can't be found
The pain so deep, she can't move on
Until her heart is unbound
But with time will come the healing
The pain will start to subside
Her heart will mend and she'll find hope
On the other side of the tide.
