A Moment In Time

We Should Be

By Freya SteelePublished 4 years ago Updated 4 years ago 1 min read

The gaze that stole my heart,

My soul danced about with glee.

Until I saw she,

The one holding onto you.

Love and sorrow intermingled,

And a life of mine flashed before me.

That should be mine.

The negative of a photo imprinted on my heart

Of you and what was ours,

in that was our first sight.

For we felt the same through the gaze we shared.

I felt all the joy that we should have

And all love that should be ours.

Our souls dance quietly together

And all other existence was no where near.

And in a rush, I came back and so did you.

Before I knew it, she had you out the door.

No name to remember but the moment we shared.

I know your soul and you know mine.

We will find each other in our next life

And get it right

For we were meant to be more than just a first sight.
