A Moment In Heaven

I remember the day like it was yesterday.

I closed my eyes and drifted away.

I stood overlooking grass in a beautiful park.

Then stood two pieces of my heart.

Smiling right by me and leading to my side.

A beautiful little girl with the beautiful eyes.

A white dress and curly brown hair.

I couldn’t stop and stare.

I went to reach out to her but she ran away.

I was telling her not to be afraid.

She did not speak to me at all.

I knew she was the missing piece in my heart.

I wanted to tell her I was sorry I was so weak.

I wanted to tell her not to be mad at me.

I was glad my dad and her were together.

I wished I could stay there longer.

Sadly I could not stay there anymore.

It was time for me to let them go.

“Oh but just 5 more minutes please”.

Till I heard the voices calling me.

It was time for me to wake up again.

I was back to reality, my peace came to an end.

10 years have passed since that beautiful day.

I wish heaven would just open their gates.

Let us visit the ones we loved for a bit.

Tell them about our day and say goodbye and thats it.

I thought it was hard when I lost my dad

But losing my child was the worst of all.

Even though I have 3 beautiful angels with me.

My little one is my missing piece.

I look forward to the day I see you once more.

I will be able to able to hold you and never let you go.
