A mind Like Wildfire

A Mind Hard to Steer

By Katie L. KashanPublished 11 months ago 1 min read

A Mind Like Wildfire

Her thoughts are sparks that dance and race,

A wildfire burning every place.

She tries to catch them, hold them tight,

But they slip away like birds in flight.

The world around is loud and bright,

Too many colors, too much light.

She starts to read, the words all blur,

Her mind drifts off—she’s not so sure…

A tapping foot, a bouncing knee,

A need to move, to just break free.

Sitting still feels like a chain,

A restless heart she can’t contain.

She tries her best, she really tries,

But focus fades, it twists, it flies.

A lesson taught, yet not retained,

Her mind resists, it can’t be trained.

Yet in her storm of endless thought,

There lies a fire brightly caught.

Ideas bloom, they swirl, they shine,

A different kind of brilliant mind.

So though she struggles, drifts, and sways,

She finds her own untraveled ways.

For though her mind is hard to steer,

It holds a spark both wild and clear.
