To the one who reads this poem, the younger form of me:
From the one who have hindsight, the man I’ve come to be:
Please, do not fear the future, and the problems that’ll come.
For there will be so many, and tragic will be some.
The loss of your loved ones will bring you into despair.
But that is when you really learn of all of those who care.
Your heart, it will be broken in way you cannot stand.
But that’s when you’ll learn you truly have a friend.
You’ll be thrown into a hole and feel you have no hope.
And then a true friend arrives and throws you down a rope.
You’ll be thrown out in the street without a place to go.
Then will come some money from a source you do not know.
Your health will start to fail you. You’ll think you’re going to die.
You’ll never be without a shoulder on which to cry.
And then you will recover and get back on your feet
With many friends to be there, with a smile you will greet.
Trials will come upon you, don’t let them bring you down,
For in the end, it will be you who will wear a crown.
So, do not fear the future, and the problems that’ll be.
A message of hope from a future version of me.
