A Melody To Her Chaos
You’ll need every ounce of your courage

She often thought about her past lovers
And their need to disappear so suddenly,
She realised she had this terrible habit
That often became the end so reluctantly.
***
A habit of loving people, those that left
Who were only there for her temporarily,
Usually a few weeks, months or a year
Here one minute, then gone momentarily.
***
I studied her love and her terrible habit
And came to believe she had a reason,
I saw through the melody of her chaos
Her lovers committing pain and treason.
***
She battled and fought hard constantly
Always at war with the otherworldly gods,
She refused to put up with their lectures
Although her heart and head were at odds.
***
Restless from the hunger of her demons
Her chaos continued to swirl around her,
Thwarted by unsatisfactory relationships
She became a heartbreak connoisseur.
***
I thought if they would take the time to see
There is a dark beauty hiding there in sight,
You’d need to look past her fictitious smile
But it is a beauty that would make it all right.
***
It would take an exceptional loving someone
Testing their courage as they dipped their toe,
Do they have what it takes to stay, to love her
Or only hang around for a short month or so?

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.

Love and life, eh? Makes you wonder why it's so "hard" to find that right someone. And yet, even after you do, you spend (albeit a much smaller amount of) time wondering.
