A MAZED HOUSE
Your eyes take the lead while your mind follows behind.
Danny shows me around what I at first think is an old apartment for rent. It’s dusty and dingy and has very outdated furniture, but it is very spacious. The older lady continues the tour through a large dirty and moldy kitchen. It has all the appliances. Too many appliances. Double and triple of each. This is nice, my mind perceives, more than enough surfaces for everyone. She takes me through the multiple applianced kitchen and out a back door. I marvel at the space while my now bare feet dodge all of the puppy poops. But then she takes me around a corner where there’s a community garden. There are a lot pots. Too many pots. Double and triple of all sizes and color. This is nice, my mind perceives, ample space out back to grow vegetables. We head inside to the guest bathroom in the center of the living room floor. The structure exists there as if it grew from the floor and into the ceiling. The bathroom is very bright from it's many windows that is on every wall. There are sinks, tubs and showers. Too many. Two, three and four of each. This is nice, my mind perceives, more than one guest can use it at a time. Then we head up stairs and the first room is hers but we can’t even get in. There are water pipes going across the middle of the door way, we move on. The next room is huge, outdated and connected by a doorway to her room. It has more than enough beds. Too many beds. Three of each size exactly. This is nice, my brain perceives, I can flip to a cold bed whenever I get hot. The tour is over and I thank Danny; I would be happy to move in right now. We agree, I sign the lease while I look into the room of the house next door. She takes a break, then shows me all of her costumes in her dusty closet. There are many costumes. Too many. I put on a purple dinosaur costume. This is nice, my brain perceives, I look just like Barney, yes very nice.
