A Man I Knew

A lovers game

A Man I Knew

A man I knew, with charm so rare,

Possessed a key, a treasure to share.

With each soft word and tender glance,

He’d open hearts, igniting romance.

His laughter danced like a gentle stream,

A melody sweet, a lover's dream.

With kindness as his guiding light,

He made the shadows fade from sight.

He understood the silent sighs,

The hidden wishes in longing eyes.

With graceful ease, he found the way,

To turn the night into a bright new day.

No lock too strong, no door too stout,

With every story, he'd draw us out.

In his embrace, the world felt right,

A sanctuary in the depth of night.

Though time moves on, and paths may part,

His spirit lingers, a work of art.

For that man knew, with love’s sweet key,

The power to set every heart free.

So here I pen this ode sincere,

To celebrate a love held dear.

A man I knew, who played his part,

With a golden key to open every heart.

He opened mine once upon a time,

And forever has that man been mine.

If you’re curious, and seeking the flame,

The one who loves us all—is Cupid by name.
