First love

My first love remains in my mind’s eye’s sight.

That point from the past spreads a Conal pillar of light.

My red-haired friend and his Shetland pony

invited me into a loving reality, completely unphony.

Even in an adult’s stone-cold world

the inner child teaches how love can unfurl.

These are some really striking lines. "My red-haired friend and his Shetland pony" really brought me into the moment you've anchored the piece around. Lovely work!
