In my mind's eye, my love does reside,
An imaginary partner by my side.
A creation of my own heart's desire,
A constant companion, my one true sire.
We walk hand in hand, through fields of green,
We laugh and dance, in a world serene.
We share our hopes, our dreams and fears,
And wipe away each other's tears.
In this world of make-believe,
My heart is free, and my soul relieved.
An escape from reality,
Where love is pure, and all is well.
But as I open my eyes, and the dream does fade,
I'm reminded of the life I've made.
Though my imaginary partner may be gone,
The memories of love, forever will live on.
And when the world gets too much to bear,
I'll close my eyes and find you there,
My imaginary partner, my guiding light,
A love that's real, in my mind's sight.
