A Love Letter to the Countryside
Ode to a Simple Life
My dearest countryside fair,
Oh, how I long to be in your care,
To wander through your fields and vales,
And feel your gentle breeze and gales.
The rolling hills, the verdant trees,
The babbling brooks, the buzzing bees,
These are the sights and sounds I miss,
In my city life, that's full of hiss.
The sun that rises in the morn,
And brings with it a brand new dawn,
The rooster's crow, the bird's sweet song,
These are the tunes that I long.
But what I miss most of all,
Is the simplicity, that stands tall,
In your quaint villages, and friendly folk,
Who welcome strangers with a loving yoke.
The way you celebrate and come together,
For festivals and joys, that last forever,
The way you work, with sweat and toil,
And cherish the land, that rewards your soil.
In a world that's rushing, and never stops,
Where technology reigns, and progress hops,
You are a haven, of peace and calm,
That wraps me in its sweetest balm.
Oh, how I dream of being with you,
To soak in your beauty, fresh and new,
To be surrounded by your landscapes fair,
And breathe in your sweet country air.
Until that day, my love, I'll wait,
And cherish memories, that in my heart sate,
Of a time and place, that's dear to me,
My dearest countryside, that sets me free.
