A Love Letter

I am

The love letter you tore to shreds

And burnt to ashes

You used to carry me around in your pocket

Until my ink started to fade

And my edges began to tear

I must admit

when you threw my shredded pieces in the fire place

Instead of screaming out in pain

I yelled out all the words written within me

As if it'd change your mind

But even if it would have

The damage has been done

And I'll forever be

nothing to you
