A Life of Shadows

Sorrow, Despair, and a Glimmer of Hope

This life of mine, so full of shadows deep

Where once was light, now only darkness creeps

My heart, once full of joy and blissful cheer

Now lies heavy with sorrow and with fear

Each day I wake, to find only pain

The sunshine gone, clouded by endless rain

And though I try to smile and carry on

The weight of sadness, it's never quite gone

I see the world, in hues of gray and drear

A bleakness that surrounds me, year after year

And even the sweetest of melodies and rhyme

Cannot erase the ache, the wounds of time

I know there's beauty, in this world so wide

And though I seek it, still I cannot hide

From the sadness that clings to my every breath

A cursed reminder of life's bitterest test

So here I sit, alone with my sorrow

Praying for strength, for a brighter tomorrow

Though the shadows of life may never quite lift

I'll hold on to hope, and find a way to live

For even in darkness, there's a glimmer of light

A hope that one day, things will be all right

And though my heart may be heavy with pain

I'll keep fighting and rising, again and again.
