A Letter Worth Writing
Instructions for a Feeling Challenge Entry.

I want to live in a world where everyone has a pen pal.
Where everyone has time, space and above all, peace,
To write such a heartfelt letter.
One where the author re-wrote it over and over again,
Sitting next to the ever-growing pile
Of scrunched-up paper with each new draft.
Making sure the handwriting is neat, clear,
Yet doesn't reduce the passion.
Where the envelope's odyssey carries
A stamp worth buying.
Harbouring pen strokes that flow like rivers of ink
In a white sea of what could have been.
A voyage -
Anchoring a moment that has since passed.
To which you are left,
Sincerely,
While time converges, presently,
Into one.
Hoping that the return journey
Will be as kind
And not met with silence.
That's the quietness in letters,
Leaving the intended
In a state of yearning.
Yet...life persists,
As does virtue for patience.
Hidden beneath the language,
Behind the shadows of the words.
Humanity is crafted,
Not manufactured.
Born as if
We are the unwritten letters,
Awaiting our creases.
