A Letter To Heaven

Dear Dad,

In the quiet spaces, where your laughter used to dance,

I'm left with echoes, a yearning, a chance.

The world, a puzzle missing a vital piece,

Navigating life without you, a ceaseless lease.

Dad, the maestro of my childhood song,

Now, the melody falters, feels all wrong.

In the mundane moments, your absence screams,

Lost in the chaos of shattered dreams.

Through the fog of sorrow, I grope and grasp,

Trying to find footing, in this intricate clasp.

No more shared secrets, no more advice,

Just the deafening echo of your silence, precise.

The colours of life, once vibrant and bold,

Now muted, as if all stories have been told.

How do I paint this canvas without your hue,

In this world that feels alien, and strangely askew?

Footprints linger in the sands of yesterday,

Yet, forward I march, trying to find my own way.

The compass spins, erratic and wild,

In this vast wilderness, your absence compiled.

The stars above, once a cosmic guide,

Now seem indifferent, in their celestial stride.

How do I navigate this cosmic maze,

With your laughter lost in its intricate phase?

Yet, within this void, resilience sprouts,

A quiet rebellion against lingering doubts.

In the unravelling threads of our shared history,

I find strength, forging a new tapestry.

Grief, a tempest, yet love remains,

In the symphony of loss, a haunting refrain.

I'll learn to dance to this somber tune,

In the silhouettes cast by the grieving moon.

So, here I stand, in this unfamiliar space,

Chasing your shadow, embracing the grace.

For even in absence, your spirit's alive,

A whispered promise, as long as I strive.

Love, Bumblebee x

This one hits close to home for me- I love the line "Grief, a tempest, yet love remains,"- and how the progression of the thought goes through the grief and loss but lands on the affirmation to still strive.
