Iridescence
I've awoken from the slumber Emerged at full brightness From what once was eternal I can now see the world for all its might where once was grey Is now full of light Lessons were learned within those times I never realised one life, Could such a ripple effect As an action releases a chain reaction As fingerprints embedded Can never be forgotten
Growth
From the roots What may Did stem From where the growth began A beauty did emerge
Imbalance
Chemicals are at war within Fighting for my voice Willing to take over And throw life Into a frenzy To unleash Their very darkest of demons Or reckless euphoric might I await My dopamine, cerotinin and executioner
Forest Freedom
Where feet lay upon
This here earth
The world is flowing
The world is free
Where the spirit soars through streams
And chases through trees
Peace entwined
Within forged oak
This is what the soul seeks
Magic within the trees
The Girl Who Once Was
There once was a girl
Who carried hope in her heart
A spark in her eye
And a wonder for the world
There once was a girl
Who felt no fear
Held a smile from ear to ear
And an imagination beyond limitations
There once was a girl
As older she became
Battled for justices far beyond her control
And soon the world made her tame
There once was a girl
Very tolerant and obedient
As made to be what society enforced
Shackled into groundhog day
There once was a girl
Who followed suit
Merged with the crowd
Although she once proudly stood out
There once was a girl
A forgotten child at heart
The spark now gone
An emptiness within
A dullness where light once shone
And adrift from her dreams for they had wore thin
Day
"Is this the end?"
The moon whispered
"Always there was
And forever there is
Faith we'll make it
Another day"
The sun shined
Debris
Survivors of the devastation
As few as they were
Those words marched on
Beyond fields of regret
And flagstones of disappointment
They carried tales of
Hopes and dreams
Ignited and destroyed
Flecks of sparks
From her eyes now eternally redundant
Float through the chaos
Created by a now
Rested, exhausted soul
Her spirit lay
Where the remnants remained
In the hearts of those who remembered
But those words marched on
Past. Present. Future.
Remember what once was
And what has been
The smiles of today
And the promises of tomorrow
Unity
The inevitable injustices
In this world
Some unforeseen
Some unforgettable
In the depth of hatred
Must be overcome
The willingness to blame
For all of yesterdays failures
Could never quite equate
To the possibility of
Tomorrow's successes
Shield
Poetically,
I search and have seeked,
Justice that was not reached
Truths untold,
Foundations of the broken
Were where my walls took mould
To which lay the broken
Unredeeming soul
The incapable one,
And now this is her story,
Spoken
