A Guide to Welcoming Change

Even when it feels uncomfortable

By Alexandria HypatiaPublished 16 days ago 1 min read

Begin by greeting the tremor you feel,

the flutter that tells you the world is real.

Don’t chase it away or tighten your chest—

change often arrives as an uninvited guest.

Next, make room for the shift in the air.

A moment of stillness. A soft, simple stare.

Let the unfamiliar sit where it may;

you don’t have to solve it or push it away.

Then take one action, humble and small—

move a routine, adjust a wall.

Let tiny choices open the door,

teaching your heart it can hold a bit more.

After that, listen for what wants to unfold.

Change speaks quietly, steady and bold:

Loosen your grip.

Try something new.

Release what no longer belongs to you.

Treat these whispers like lantern light—

not forcing a path, but making one bright.

Follow the glow at a patient pace;

transformation is not a race.

Finally, welcome the feeling you once tried to flee.

Let discomfort become possibility.

For every shift, however strange,

is simply the body learning change.

And when you allow it to move through your door,

you’ll find you’re becoming a little bit more.
