Dragonflies don’t sew your lips

Chocolate goes straight to my hips

Hold your breath under a bridge

A broken heart might hurt a smidge

Say please and thank you all the time

And say your prayers in bed at night

Ill love you until the end of time

That’s what my parents told me

Always try to be yourself

Don’t pretend to be like someone else

The ocean sings through cockle shells

At least that’s what they said

I loved you first, then I set you free

You stole the very heart in me

When we die, again we’ll meet

And that’s why I believe

Saying goodbye is not the end

It’s more than a promise or pretend

I will miss so much of you it hurts

To leave you there, under the dirt

But you’re not there, though we’re apart

You’re here with me, deep in my heart
