A Greek Nymph

Can Sing Without and Within

A Greek nymph can sing without and within

As I hear her before falling asleep

And in every dream about my love’s spin

As I listen to her voice as I leap

From Athens into her mind where I find

Memories she was unable to waive

As they were unimaginably signed

With words to be together till my grave.

My inner cat feels my pain and distress

As I continue to write about her

Remembering every no and each yes

As I’m dying again to hear her purr.

Goddess Athena comforts my sorrow

Preparing me for the same tomorrow.
