A GHOST PUSHED ME DOWN THE STAIRS AND ALL I GOT WAS THIS LOUSY T-SHIRT

a poem

By Aaron MorrisonPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Annoying apparition

Threw a quarter at my back

I know you want attention

But I won’t give you jack

Phantom of the kitchen

Why’d you move the jam?

You leave the cupboards open

In hopes I’ll bump my head

The wraith is right behind me

Porch screen my defense

It was a pleasant evening

Until it made things tense

Shadow in the hallway

I’m trying to watch TV

I’m minding my own business

So why’d you rush at me?

Specter, spirit, presence

Perhaps it’s not your fault

But I really need a respite

So don’t make me get the salt
