A Friend, Turned Foe III

I trusted you, and I've learned the hard way, that I shouldn't have. I won't make the same mistake twice.

to my feelings,

you were never a friend‐

you've only lied to me,

led me wrong and took me astray

no longer do i claim you

i turn my face,

not that you will remember

not that you've ever cared about anything outside of your own agenda

i'd get rid of you if i could‐

the storms you cause,

the waterworks,

every thorn you stick in my side,

and all the wretched emotion you bring‐

i know you'd do the same

i don't care what comes to follow

and i know you don't either

because you were never a friend

but one of my greatest foes

i know you won't return to me what you stole

but you won't be taking anything else

because i won't be listening to your lies anymore

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
