A friend

By William Sangalli

The pastime quickly became laughing into each other's ears

How I could always call on that sound to bring me euphoria

Remembering the moments we shared in our school years

Even the ones that crowded the mind with dysphoria

You were present to lift me from that state of mind

Making it nothing but simple to take a moment and unwind.

That hair of Rapunzel with its light, red shimmer brings so many to captivation

While she would never give such looks any amount of relief

Never knowing that she was like a constellation

Her presence alone is truly beyond belief

Yet, she does not use anything but her mind and soul to lure them near

Bringing these souls close with nothing to fear.

And since childhood, time would slip through our fingers and carry on

Dark clouds would overtake the sky, pouring down its bitter rain

All the while you were there, sitting so pretty, and I, so drawn

No matter the time–the distance, you and I were together on memory lane

Which is a road— that will always remain.

Friendship

I have a friend who is really good-looking. He has a comedic appearance but is mixed with some tragic emotions
