A For Rent Sign

Poem

By K.A. SmithPublished 12 months ago 1 min read

A neighbor
Is a neighbor,
Is a neighbor.
With or without silence,
Approved enough
For a rule.
To be rendered
A fool.
To be rendered
As glass or plastic bags.
"Hi you."
"Hi neighbor."
"Not too bad."
But, the For Rent sign
Remains in the yard...
Remained.
