A Father's Love

Happy Father's Day

By Mother CombsPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

From the moment he held his babies, his love grew and grew,

He soon learned that for them there was not anything he would not do.

Helping to change dirty diapers to 2 AM feedings.

Never cringing when asked to deal with little kids' feelings.

When asked to read, he always has the time.

For his kids' college future, he can always deposit a dime.

To support his children's wants and needs,

He never complains even when they grow like weeds.

When he gives you your first bike,

It will be one that you and all your friends will like.

You can count on him to help you go far

when he helps you learn to drive your first car.

A loving Father is there for you his whole life

You can not cut a bond like that with a knife.

So on this Father's Day and every day

Let's tell our Fathers what we need to say,

How important they are to us and the love we have for them

That the love they had for us had been such a rare gem.

Digging into the archives! Well-wrought! To be a parent in this day and age, I have found, comes with challenges which previous ages could not have imagined.

  • This hit me so hard with emotions! Loved your poem so much!
