A Farmers Summer

The soft gleaming white of the winter snow is fading, a farmer's time for rest comes to a halt for shaping.

Sharpening and greasing his tools he begins singing praising the Lord, for in the spring not much color is for the seeing.

Brown ground so wet and damp waiting for the tilling and the farming to commence blue skies are all the farmer is asking.

The warm sun shining every day, other than on the days where it is raining.

Soon the green grass will replace the brown ground, like the blue skies replacing the gray clouds.

Nightfall comes and nightfall goes, soon all the flowers on the farm will grow.

Then you will see the farmers mind set at ease, when he sees reds and pinks with golden hues.

Little flowers taking shape start peeking through, bring out life as summer blooms.

Making all the farmers hard work and dreams come true.

Walking down every path and stepping into every room, you can see the farmers green thumb in view.

From the carrots and corn freshly picked, to bouquets of flowers he picked for his chick.

She enjoys all the colors like purples, blues, and whites, but reds, pinks, and yellows are her delight.
