A Face Says a Thousand Things

A love that shines forever.

A face says a thousand things,

Yet your voice remains silent.

And your hands remain clenched.

And your feet remain planted.

...

Where are you running to?

Wandering with no place in mind.

Searching with nothing to find.

Going down into the depths of nothingness.

Letting the abyss swallow you whole,

When you know you have a home.

...

A face says a thousand things.

Do you not know that I see?

Quenching a never-ending thirst

With drink that never fulfills.

...

Dry as a bone, you called Me.

Crushed under soot, you whispered.

First, you broke your silence,

Then, you broke My heart.

...

Am I to take pity on you, now?

For you know a face says a thousand things.

And yet I can’t help but love you.

To keep you close to Me.

...

Why did you forsake Our promise?

Did you not say your heart was Mine?

Carrying the broken chains of your past lover.

A glutton, a drunkard, and a swine.

...

A face says a thousand things.

Many dare not look,

but when I looked, I saw Myself.

One by one, I saw it all.

...

Teasing at the corners of your lips,

something that looks like betrayal sits.

I whispered My song in your ears.

And you took for yourself:

a verse and a rhyme,

but you left out My substance.

...

A face says a thousand things.

When will you learn?

Nothing is hidden from Me.

...

You clutch a vanishing handle.

You stand on shaky ground.

The abyss is too deep for your light to ever be seen again,

If you fall.

...

Leave the drunkard to his wine.

Leave the glutton to his fill.

My love will satisfy you.

You will never crave again.

...

My face says a thousand things,

and yet you cannot see Me.

My voice is never silent,

and yet you do not hear Me.

I stand with you,

and yet you do not feel Me.

...

Of the thousand, there are ten.

And of the ten, there is one.

And out of the one, there is love.

A love that shines forever.
