A Dog in the Rain

Wet cold all alone

A Dog in the Rain

Beneath the gray and weeping sky,

A little dog sits, his head held high.

Raindrops fall, cold and steep,

But he doesn’t bark, he doesn’t weep.

His fur is soaked, his paws are bare,

A lonely shadow in the chilly air.

His tail curls tight, his eyes forlorn,

A heart that aches, a soul worn.

The world rushes, too busy to see,

The sadness he wears so silently.

Yet in the storm, his spirit stays,

Dreaming of brighter, warmer days.

even the smallest, drenched in pain,

Holds hope beneath the pouring rain.

A wag, a bark, a chance to be found,

To feel love’s warmth, safe and sound.
