A Cozy Winter Day

A poem on the joys of winter

 A Cozy Winter Day

Gazing out a frost covered window

Watching snowflakes drift down from gray skies,

gently settling on the windowsill

Outside, an arctic chill lingers in the air, frigid and numb

I smile content grateful for the warmth of the crackling fire, its light glowing from within the fireplace

A warm cozy blanket wrapped snug around me,

my cold hands savoring the warmth of a mug

Wisps of steam rises from the top warming my soul as well

the scent of hot cocoa entices me

as little marshmallows float playfully in my mug delight me

I grab a book, settle back, and turn a crisp page

instantly transporting to another world

as I enjoy a cozy winter day
