My name is Joye, and I am 70 years old. I have a very compromised immune system, and many risk factors. Even with all of the problems I face, I haven't let Covid 19 get the better of me. During the pandemic I accomplished many things. Through all of my experiences, it has made me stronger as a person.
I write poems, and lyrics to songs. Which I started doing before the virus and have a portfolio of over seventy pieces to date. I even have a podcast! It is so much fun to mix the song tune with the lyrics and create a song for all to enjoy. I like posting on social media a lot. It is so comforting to reach out to others from all walks of life all around the world.
In February of 2020 my third book was published. "My Friend Chippie" hit the online book sales and some bookstores. Jason, my son, and my niece Emma helped me with the illustrations of this delightful children's book.
Another project I enjoy is coloring pictures. I sometimes frame them and give as gifts to friends, family and people I meet on social media. I thoroughly enjoy the many groups Facebook has to offer, and I enjoy Instagram as well. Reaching out to others around the world is uplifting for me. My love of graphic arts has blossomed, too. To date I have over three hundred projects completed.
The highlight of my summer during Covid 19 was my flower garden. Over one thousand roses bloomed each summer so far, as well as two hundred hydrangea flowers. Beauty beyond comprehension.
The pandemic hit all of us really hard all over the world. Here in the United States, it has brought a lot of terror and rage, and much heartache. But it is also bringing people closer together. Their faith is becoming stronger because of the trauma.
Keeping busy on a daily basis will help. Enjoy music, laughter, facetime. Whatever makes you happy! That is what we must do to endure!
