A Controlled State Of Mind

A Poem by Stevie Jay

By Stevie JayPublished 11 months ago β€’ 1 min read

We held galaxies in our hands. In that moment, we understood forever. Molding life, changing history. We were forever. Or at least we could be. Glistening street lights shining through the rain on the window. We are human, we are temporary. But I’d like to hope that someday I could live in that moment forever.

The milky way flowing through our fingers, yet we still don’t have control. Our minds and body’s lost in a universe that we created. So where we found freedom, we found a controlled state of mind. Minds that were one, minds that were still.

The world collapsed around us, and there was nothing. We were before God, but after creation. I felt the stars and galaxies exploding in my lungs. I am the universe, I am my own creator. I am one, and I am all. I am human.
