A Change of Dream(ery), Even for One Night
Wonderland Poetry Prompt Challenge Day 13
Martin Luther had a dream,
The world came to adore.
Fleetwood Mac sang about dreams,
A great hit song for sure.
I myself have many dreams,
And I hope to have a few more.
&&&&
But would it kill the maker of the dreams,
To give me something that I enjoy?
Instead of waking up at night haunted by extremes?
I have dreamt about big spiders and about long snakes,
Can’t you change my nightly dreams,
So I don’t wake up in a shock in the middle of the night?
&&&&
I want to fall in love in some of my dreams,
To a lady who is gentle and is a sheer delight.
I want to wake up happy, where all is as it seems,
A dream that will make me smile all through the night,
So, Mr Dream maker, can’t you give me a sweet dream?
Even just for one night?
&&&&
Till next time,
Calvin

Nice use of the variety of uses for Dream. Happy dreams make the day start better.
I think you and I have the same dream maker! I never get a sweet someone loving me dream. Last night I dreamed that I had to launch my husband off of a military catapult, and it got stuck, so he ended up in the ocean (he was fine). And a couple nights ago there were sharks under murky green water.
Very good! Thank you for sharing.💗💕 Saying it will help it.❤️
Dreams have their own agenda. 😅 It’s good to give them some direction sometime at the start, gently falling asleep thinking about something that can continue in dreamland. Nice take on the prompt with the history and music reference.
Excellent entry, just annoyed I cant take part (Vocal wont let me publish😸). Keep on writing
