A Cautious Tale.

On the outworn Samaritan virtue

By Hoyt Douglas BattlesPublished 5 years ago 1 min read
It's your own fault this despotism

Spending my entire life safely, I never dared to dream big. Striving to be normal, when I was outstanding.

Refusing to commit, I failed everyone on a personal level, yet when the time came I cared for everyone equally and just.

Never giving credit, nor to seek reward. The gifts given to me at birth, were enough to proclaim that I would never return after this.

Finding the ruse of liars and evil, I hold back my intellect. To hide my light in obscurity never revealing just who I am.

I thought it would help them, but found them to continue wanting. Never to do the work themselves, but would falsely seek the glory and the credit.

I've been cautious for a reason.
