Biochemical process
doesn’t always shout “Yay” moments
of everything everywhere
In the heat of transformation
I weep/regulate/excrete/curse in equal measure
Unseen covered crucible for one
Never comfortable
but acclimated
to levels of contentment
because it’s guaranteed not to last
and removal of impurities
as in matter from matter
is by nature an extrication
as painful as it sounds
But when the refined me arises
heightened acuity
concentrated wisdom
more grounded-levels calm
exceeding gratitude
for yet again surpassed capacities
humility overtakes
extinguishes protest before it starts
as I glimpse the end products of alchemy that mirror
the me that often wanted to give up
now in sight of distant lands
and glistening
under the stars of a new moon

What an amazing piece of writing! Astounding rhythm. I'm so glad Sam Eliza Green wrote a piece including your work otherwise I might not have found it. Amazing!
Captivating!
What an amazing poem. "as I glimpse the end products of alchemy that mirror the me...." is such a lovely, poignant line. Your poem is lingeringly beautiful.
I'm with Cathy, that was my favourite line as well! So powerful! Loved your poem so much!
