A Brother’s Bond
Built Over Many Decades of Christmas Past
As snowflakes dropped from a silvery sky,
My brother and I watched the world drift by.
Through crowded streets filled with holiday cheer,
We wandered together as Christmas grew near.
Each Christmas tree hunt was a thrilling delight,
We walked until we found a tree that looked just right.
We then hauled the tree home with laughter so pure,
Bringing the magic inside our hearts for sure.
Next, we untangled lights in a festive parade,
Setting up color patterns our hands made.
Setting up each tiny bulb in a loveable embrace,
Our laughter filled up our small, cozy place.
As the tree lit up our living room so bright,
We could feel our love growing that night.
Each string of lights created something new,
And served as a reminder of how our love for each other grew.
Although many decades have passed, the memories still shine
In my mind, I remember when his shoulder stood next to mine.
While reliving the excitement of my brother’s voice
Tata was my brother, my friend, and my first-holiday choice.
Through each winter’s chill, it has become clear:
My brotherly love strengthens with each passing year!
Dedicated to My Brother who I Nicknamed "Tata" when I was 1 years old!
