a blank canvas to paint wildflowers
A breakup "nonet" love poem

I was yours: fine-grained earth: clay you shaped,
molded—a blank canvas to paint
wildflowers. You loved me in
your kiln, glazed me, then dropped
me—refused to break
my fall (but placed)
shattered me
on the
wall.

To go from such graceful and caring crafting to shattering - wow. That's a brilliant contrast in such few words! A great take
