You Shoulda Saw Her.

A Bird’s Adolescence

You walked 15,000 feet to the doorstep with rain drops invading your tresses. Fearfully so, you couldn’t take the neglect any longer;

you shoulda saw her.

Middle of the school year, contemplating a new environment from the one bringing the rain down. A down pour heavy enough to cover her like she swam through a deluge. Never drowned in her sorrows, ‘cause she was a good swimmer, survivor. Insecure of her form, she one day let a man guide her afloat. Learning to steer a boat and to serve others for needs outside of her own.

You soon clipped off the training-wheels to those wings he gave you, though, you sure miss his guiding hand.

The bird’s adolescence is over. Years later, dealing with your problems alone, not afraid to take the blame for the mistakes in your life. His last lesson, showed her how to be aware, of the things you control on your end.
