A beach of past nights

A poem about a friend drifting away

Do you still remember then?

A time where we were in the night?

In Greece, between the waves and sand,

Where you fled to the ocean’s side.

Alone you sat, but not for long

I came to you, and sat down too

A sign to say, “You’re not alone,”

So two then watched the waves and moon.

Where am I now? You dare not ask.

These days I sit at river’s beach,

Alone, at waves like Greece in dark—

But you did not come after me.

Did I give up, accept my ”fate”?

Was I just there to help you up?

And now you stand and so I fade?

While silence has my mouth caged shut

My mind tells me I shouldn’t talk

You surely have much better plans

So often then I took a walk

Instead of reaching out again

I just hope at your current beach

There still is shining of the stars

And a hand of love in reach

Melding smiles unto your heart

About the Creator

竜鶴

Just a lonely person who writes out feelings, thoughts and dreams to get them out. Could talking ever suffice for a poetic mind?

Maybe others find themselves in similar thoughts. To you I reach out.
