A battle with my mind

I silence and ban my inner tears and thoughts of him

A battle with my mind

I made a wish for love to be mine,

Under a moon that refused to shine.

The stars withheld their gentle light,

Leaving me alone in the cold night.

Through empty streets, I wandered on,

Seeking a love that never come.

Each shadow whispered tales of woe,

Echoes of a heart’s silent scream.

In gardens where roses once did bloom,

Now only thorns and withered gloom.

The scent of loss upon the air,

Reminders of a love not there.

Beside the sea’s relentless tide,

I cast my hopes, but they subside.

Waves returned with empty hands,

Love’s promise lost to distant lands.

In dreams, I saw his beautiful face,

A phantom from some other place.

Reaching out, he slipped away,

Leaving my soul in disarray.

Time’s cruel passage heals no wound,

In memories, my heart is bound.

A wish made under a darkened sky,

For a love that was a lie.

Now I walk this path in tears lost ,

A lesson of the heart, I paid the cost

The moon above, a witness still,

To a wish unfulfilled. A poisoned pill.
