I like the motion in your metaphor. The thoughts twirling at twilight perfectly capture that feeling. The wakefulness at twilight and movement in your kinesthetic imagery lets me know exactly how restless you must have been feeling. Studying while feeling like this must be so hard, and I am truly sorry that this was happening to you. The asyndetonfollowed by the "all empty" line made me feel how hopeless and unprepared you felt, and this makes me want to give you a big hug.
Love this — it’s such a cute, jittery little snapshot! You’re tired, but not defeated—and that last week? You’ll crush it. Your brain just needs a little peace, a little candy, and maybe one less kitchen dance break (…or maybe two). 🙌💖
Love the imagery of kitchen dance parties as tiny acts of survival. That’s a whole mood.
The head being empty was so relatable, lol. You got this Marie! I wish you all the best ✨️❤️
Sounds like you’re in grad school.
I hardly get blocked so can only imagine how stifling it might be. Beautifully rendered my friend. Almost there, lass! You got this!
