6,758 Reads later on Vocal!

This is supposed to be a poem

But I got carried away by the emotions

So I am truly repentant that I may be disqualified

For turning my poem into a complete story

I am not normally one to brag or boast, actually, quite the opposite. I will hide away if given the chance, it is the weird quirky nature of the sliver of artistic nature within me. Just recently though, I "Unsplashed" my name, according to the mandate of a challenge by the lovely Ashley Lima. I was met with books and pages filled with words, yet what to write was a dilemma.

Then I saw a Top Story by Jazzy Goncalves who celebrates 1000 reads with much joy and exhilaration. I found inspiration in that freshly evocative jubilation and ebullience.

Like many, I found Vocal during a down period of my life. My delight at that discovery was overwhelmingly euphoric and rapturous. I started writing with alacrity and vengeance and has not stopped since. One author asked me if I ever stopped to take a breath, I was a little peeved. Did someone complain that I wrote too many stories? Was I writing too many stories? When I first joined I was told to write to my heart's content. Has that changed. I still wonder about it. But, I am back to writing to my heart's desire. It is what I love to do. I also read other authors stories to my heart's desire.

I have written the equivalent of a thousand reads per hundred stories. In the grand scheme of things, it is just a drop in the bucket, but like Jazzy, I am as proud as can be.

Vocal is a lighthouse. I must say I have a fondness for lighthouses. It represents a metaphorical lifeline to all who are in need of a little bit of hope and a lot of inspiration.

You never know who you really are until you face the challenge of meeting yourself face to face. I knew by the nature of my name that when I did Unsplash, the equivalent of Google on Vocal, that I would be presented with books or words or something of that nature to represent my name. I had done it with much anticipation and excitement to see what it was that I would write about. Yet I was stumped.

Books with pages of writing. That was totally me.

Everything that I had ever written about came flooding to my mind by just looking at the picture of the simple black and white books within the frame. I felt a great nostalgia kick in, and I knew that I was home within those pages that led directly back to this genius of a platform.

I have met the most amazing people on this writing journey, and sincerely hope to meet many more.
