I've always wanted to skateboard
A human version of flying without drifting too far
Hoverboarding into the future while keeping it 90s rad
Yet I'm terrified of falling
Like that moment where you just about drift off to sleep
Your head heavily tilts and CRASH
You jolt awake
Feeling the true meaning and sensation of falling asleep
And you wonder
If only you had wheels or a rope
Kite string
Shoelace
Something to tether you to this world so you don't just float away
Forgotten
Left to slumber
To die (peacefully, no?)
But instead, we Franken-bolt into consciousness
Avoid the endless bottom with thick concrete waiting for your splatter
No mohawk spike helmet will save you from the crash
And so,
I play Tony Hawk Pro Skater on the Switch
While parked safely on the couch
Where falling and failure won't ever bruise me
But just might make my thumbs sore
My back a little achy,
And my pride a tad less flashy

Aching thumbs or shattered kneecaps... Nice stream of consciousness, Oneg!
Yep, I'm an epic klutz. The only reason anyone would want to see me on a skateboard is to see if my fails might go viral.
I tried skateboarding when I was a kid. Let's just say 2 older brothers, one board, and a little sister add up to stitches.
I get this and you have described it perfectly! THPS2 For Ever!
I get the fear of falling while skateboarding. I've had similar moments when dozing off. Playing the game on the couch is a safe way to feel that thrill without the real risks.
