I wish I were sunshine,

Even the tempest.

This or that.

Certain and welcoming.

Steady and terrifying.

I am neither…and both.

I am waves lapping gently,

The torrent crashing.

Sun glittering with warmth,

Clouds brewing and dark.

I welcome you,

And push away.

Part of it all,

An island.

Constant in my inconsistency.

What hope do you have of knowing me,

I am learning Myself.
