#20 Poems in 20 Minutes Challenge

Failed in style! But did 10!

My feet start moving

The moment the back beat drops

Hip hop, don't you stop

*

When it starts to rain

My heart starts swelling with joy

Until it's over

*

The purest of hearts

Can undo decades of pain

If you just let it

*

facing disaster

Only the strongest of wills

Can survive the pain

*

I sometimes wonder

If we could reverse back time

Would we, really?

*

Though it is scary

You have to grow up sometime

You can't stay a kid

*

Look at that old tree

It doesn't ask for anything

Love and respect

*

Pain and suffering

only love, peace, and patience

Can help, in the end

*

One thing is for sure

We are all the same in death

Whoever we are

*

Want some life advice?

Don't waste precious time on hate

But, choose love instead!

*

Thanks for reading!

Author's Note: As a way of challenging myself and because the next few pieces I have to write for challenges are difficult and challenging, I decided to try and write 20 haiku in 20 minutes. This is another take on Judey Kalchik's challenge #100 Things in 20 Minutes, which you can check out below:

Basically, I failed. But did do 10, so that's something. If anyone else is foolish enough to try it, post your efforts below, and I will include them in this piece. I reckon 10 should be the target. I am keeping my original title the same, though, to document my failure!

Here are a couple of other pieces you may be interested in:

Ohhh, this was really wonderful! I need to give myself a challenge like this! Loved your little nuggets of wisdom!

  • Impressive, Paul. Quite impressive.

  • Sir Paul, I would have barely even finished my first Haiku in 20 minutes. As for your life advice, say NO to love, alcohol, drugs, marriage and kids. All are detrimental to health 🤣🤣🤣🤣

These were really good! I am not a haiku writer at all!

Very nice. I am giving myself a challenge of writing a haiku a day for the month of September. At the end of the month, I’ll enter the best one in the Writing Awards… but publish the rest in one post. “Want some life advice? Don't waste precious time on hate But, choose love instead!” My favorite 💗

  • 10 is pretty darn outstanding!!!!! I’m impressed. I’m not entirely sure I would get more than one in 20 minutes 😂
