Poem 15 from my chapbook "As Glamorous as a Kidney"

I have this entire garage to myself.
20 minutes to midnight.
{
I’ll be back in the kitchen tomorrow
At 3PM.
{
Until then I get to be alone
With these little notes.
{
Line to
Line.
{
“Making something
Of myself.”
{
I can be a dishwasher later.
I’ll be a grandson once I’m utilized.
{
I’m a lover once given
The position.
{
I’ll always be Mama and Papas
Little accident
{t
As I will always be the seed
Who was given a chance.
{
I think of all the hours
Which have passed.
{
Forgetting my keys at Chucks
Headstone and having to drive back
{
After a long walk from there
To home.
{
I think of all the passions
Burning within and how it can
{
Only be kept in one place until
It explodes in my face.
{
I think of all there is to lose
And all there is to gain.
..
Today is finally tomorrow.
My hands are still filled
{
With the power to hold the
Next minute.
{
My mind still computes decisions.
Its decided the best thing to do
{
Now is finish this up.
Carry on once these eyes
{
Open again
}
Filter to Easter Sunday (As Any Other Day)
