100 % Average
and always walking from right to left

When you’re just a statistic -
Do your best to be the standard deviation.
Rage against the machine.
And be mean.
But when you’re anything but average.
Walk over that hill
And find peace in the valley.
Plant your roots on the outside.
Where the water naturally runs.
And know that you will have shade from the sun.
And water from the high.
Funny that the lows.
And the shade it throws.
Protect you from the burn.
And the blows.
But not the drown.
And the deep deep down.
It doesn’t protect you from the sink.
And the
I feel very weak.
Don’t praise the climb like they all do.
If you’re anything like me.
Praise the decline.
And how hard it is to hold yourself up while you walk downhill.
To resist gravity in the way that most people don’t think to.
To walk slowly into its embrace.
To settle gracefully into place.
To let go.
In descending strength.
Instead of
Unwilling collapse.
To resist the undertow.
That saved you from the blow.
And to know.
The oscillating Mean
Is a flatline.
But the oscillating Kind
Work with exactly what they have.
No internal timeline.
Just an inner knowing
Of rhyme.
And all of the syllables it takes.
To destroy structure.
When structure is a glass ceiling
Made of blasted sand.
And you are the ocean.
That good for nothing blasted sand
Gave me my stained glass
And still no reason to rhyme.
Just an I Am
In a Pentagon of Amber.
Without the BIC.
Just a white house of
Frozen tree sap.
And no reason to sign.
Until now.
I finally found out how.
To put my Hancock
On the dotted line.
I just needed to connect them.
