1 and 2 and 3 and 4

It's all a dream we can't ignore

1 and 2 and 3 and 4

---- ---- ---- ----

Please show me wisdom and make me pure

So you bring me one portion to relish and adore

You entice the crowds and bring me two more

---- ---- ---- ----

Then you take it all away to get me to see

Alone and broken now is how it's meant to be

So down in the depths I decide conjure a decree

---- ---- ---- ----

With the spirits they grant me portions of three

Down there they will soon be waiting for me

In spite of that there is something I didn't foresee

---- ---- ---- ----

When I eventually come to suffer and die

In the muddy darkness is where I'll lie

Alone and broken as if I didn't try

---- ---- ---- ----

Nothing could stop the whispers in their accost

Thinking of you and then what I had lost

Trying to save enough for what it has cost

---- ---- ---- ----

Spread out above is a coffin of thick tears

That which you'll create from your crying years

For you had been waiting to greet me with cheers

---- ---- ---- ----

I failed to see what you had in advance

Four times the portion I had in my circumstance

I was lost in a spell or some hypnotic trance

---- ---- ---- ----

Now what can I do when it seems that I am lost forever

If only I had kept reading your detailed and passionate letter

Maybe then I would have been better, I would have been better

---- ---- ---- ----
